Replacement of the control system — BPS Žihle

The object of implementation was the replacement of the existing Allen Bradley SLC500 control system with Siemens S7-1500 control system with input and output modules ET 200SP. The application software was newly created in the Siemens TIA Portal STEP7 V17 environment, and the existing Reliance visualization was reworked into a new design while being upgraded from a Server license to a Combi Package Enterprise.

The replacement of the system was carried out in agreement with the customer without major shutdown of the substation, which allowed the equipment to operate in manual mode. After replacing the control system, the I/O functional test was performed and the automatic modes were debugged according to the requirements. Part of the implementation was training of operators in visualization control and handing over the actual execution of documentation and SW backups.
